Music

“Music is my heart and soul, a multi-layered thread thriving, healing and expanding over my lifespan.”
Robin Russell Gaiser and Goya guitar
As a musical generalist, I play 16 instruments, sing, compose, record, arrange, improvise in many genres, many settings.
My eyes stopped at one guitar in particular: a medium-sized classical style, with a warm honey-toned finish. This little beauty melted against my chest, nestled perfectly in my left hand. I wrapped my right arm around its body and began to play and sing. Hush a bye, don't you cry, go to sleep ye little baby.

Celestial, mellow, moving.

I'd found a soulmate, a handmade Swedish Goya guitar.

Recording artist with the Mill Run Dulcimer Band.

From 1977-2013, the band performed all over—in nearby DC at the Smithsonian or the Portrait Gallery, or out in the Virginia countryside at the Waterford Fair or the Bull Run Jamboree.
Old timey vocal and instrumental music. All ages

Circling ‘round Keith Young’s living room in Annandale, VA once a week for band practice, I discovered new musical gifts and a repertoire of hundreds of new songs. I also added five more musical instruments to the ones I already played.

Rock. Rest. Relax. Remember. Children and adult standards plus original compositions. Vocal and multi-instrumental. All ages.

Each CD celebrates the birth of a new grandchild.
I compose a title song and then record a full CD as the new baby's "Welcome to the World" gift. Singing music from the albums to my grandbabies in person elicits amazing responses and deepens our connection whether we are together or miles away.

Music for all Seasons
With songs in my heart and stories on my lips, I offer many private programs to all ages and stages.

Interaction with the audience, education about the music and the instruments, humor, as well as group and season-specific requests drive my choices for these productions.

From Music for Healing and Wholeness to Song and Story or An Old Fashioned Christmas to Potpourri for the Holidays and Americana: Amazing Travels, I customize each program each time. I am often asked to provide music for receptions, special occasions, and memorial services.
