But Len was gentle. Len's hard living, his occupation as a long-haul truck driver, were not who he was. Have you made assumptions about people you meet based on their lifestyle, their occupation? Did your opinions change? How?

Don, so right. I am often so quick to judge. Make assumptions. I have been trying to change that all my life--- step back, listen, observe, let scenes and people unfold of their own accord.

I don't usually play in children's hospitals, but found myself in one playing for a teenage boy. I thought he would think my quiet, Celtic hammered dulcimer music was nerdy, but I didn't know any teen repertoire. When I finished, he looked at me and said, "That made me feel better."
